Don’t let your habits get the best of you

MOBA Creative would like to wish you a happy new year!  But let’s be realistic, is anyone really going to stick to their new year’s resolution?  Most people report that they fail their new year’s resolution before February and likely by the 17th of January!  So why bother with New Year’s resolutions in the first place?

The Number One Reason?

Most people fail their New Year’s resolutions because they simply try to quit or change too many things at once.  It puts a lot of pressure on people to start to take on difficult tasks such as quitting smoking, changing their diet, or going to the gym regularly.  Most experts would suggest we focus on one bad habit at a time for the best results.  This gives your mind and body a chance to adjust to new habits.

Your new habits should be prioritized in the order of how much they affect your health.  For a lot of people this is to quit smoking or lose weight.  These are very difficult goals for people who have long-term habits and do not confront them.  But change will lead to positive outcomes if you can replace bad habits with good ones.

Want Positive change this year?  Pick some New Year’s resolutions that you can actually attain.  If you can find one or two bad habits and replace them with good ones, you might find yourself with less to resolve next year.
